Scottish League Champions and Scottish Cup Winners. This was when Rangers broke their Cup Hoodoo by winning the Scottish Cup for the first time in 25 years by beating Celtic 4-0 in the final.

NEXT LONDON BRANCH MEETING

 The next meeting will be at 7.45pm Friday 18 December 2009 at the Chelsea Conservative Club, 428 Kings Road, London SW10 0LJ. Nearest tube stations are Sloane Square (District and Circle Lines) and Fulham Broadway (District Line) Directions-It should be noted that the club is a good 15 minutes walk from either station. At Sloane Square many buses go down the Kings Road past the club. At Fulham Broadway bus numbers11 and 211 take you to the Kings Road. A lot of the smaller shops in the Kings Road have a street number on them and this makes it easy to see how close you are to the club at number 428. It is almost opposite the Sony Centre and the club building is painted in blue and white with a sign outside.    Membership fees for 2009-10 can be paid at this meeting.   Please look at the Meeting Dates 2010 page on this website for the dates of meetings for the rest of this year. Non members are very welcome at all meetings.

RANGERS MATCH TICKETS

Please go to the Tickets and Travel page on this website for full details of  Rangers matches for December 2009 and January 2010.  There are very good deals for flights and coaches to Glasgow over the next couple of months. Why not take advantage and perhaps take in a game or two at Ibrox? Always book your match tickets via the London Branch. Non members who apply for tickets are usually successful but members always get priority. If you are not a member please go to the How to Join page on this website to change all that.

After it being suggested a number of times in the Guestbook and by several members the London Branch have now its own Forums on this website where Rangers supporters can have their say about the club we love. The topics are up to you or you can comment on one of the existing ones. In common with most other forums you are asked to sign up before you can comment. You only need to do this the first time and it will only take a minute.

LONDON BRANCH AGM

At our AGM on Friday 22 May 2009 all 2008-09 Committee Members were re-elected for 2009-10 with the welcome addition of John Jobber as Minute Secretary. John is a long standing member who is the London Branch's APFSCIL delegate. With lots of exciting things being planned for the season John's experience and ideas will be a valuable asset to the committee and the club in general. All contact details for the committee are on the Contact Us page on this website. Treasurer David Clark distributed a financial report for 2008-09 at the AGM to members. Any member who was not there but would like a copy e-mailed to them please e-mail David clarky1873@hotmail.com

JOIN THE LONDON BRANCH FOR 2009-10

It was agreed unanimously at our AGM that our Annual Membership Fee be reduced to only £20.00 for 2009-10. Each member will receive a membership card and a classy London Branch lapel badge. That works out over a year at just over 38p per week for lots of benefits including match ticket availability, a healthy social scene mixing with lots of other Bears and becoming a member of the longest established Rangers supporters club in the London area. THE SOCIAL CALENDAR

The Social Calendar is  to inform Rangers supporters in the London area what is happening on the social scene. If any London Branch member, a member of any Rangers supporters club or any individual wants to publicise a social event that will be of interest to Rangers supporters please e-mail Robbie  jenkins55@btinternet.com . Have a look at the Social Calendar page  to make sure you know what is going on including something special at our Christmas meeting on Friday 18 December.  

   

  

TELEVISED MATCHES

All live televised Rangers matches are shown at the Cock Tavern, East Poultry Avenue, Smithfield, London EC1A 9LH. Nearest tube station is Farringdon (Circle Line) One stop from Kings Cross. Directions- Turn left on leaving Farringdon station, up Cowcross Street following the road until it meets Charterhouse Street. Now head right walking past the market building. East Poultry Avenue will be on your left. The entrance to the Cock Tavern will be on your right hand side down the stairs. It is about five minutes from the station. If you are not one of the lucky ones going up for the match come to the Cock Tavern watch the match and have a good sing song in a "Rangers only" atmosphere . Non members are very welcome to see the Scottish Champions in action.
